Deciding On Wholesome Fast Food

Chilean wines have improved year after year making them a favorite of mine and most of my friends. The fertile soil high in the hills makes for great land to grow grapes and the quality and the way in which they are grown has improved as new techniques are brought to Chile. The Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenere that comes from the country of Chile are my personal favorites. Partially due to the improved quality and fullness these wines have and partly because of the cost. When you put any of these wines produced in Chile next to their counterparts from other locales they are comparable in flavor, sometimes better, but a much better value for your money.

There is definitely not a fresh produce market in the small town of Lee Vining, so I asked Matt where it comes from. He said that most of it is from California's Central Valley (on the other side of the Sierra Nevada), shipped down Highway 395 daily from Reno. The mangoes and bananas which were conspicuous in the Muesli with Fresh Fruit (along with delicious raspberries) come from further, via Reno.

Recently, Luby's had to change "free" to "$2", but it's still an amazing bargain; that two dollars will get your kiddo an entree of spaghetti, chicken, fish, slow cooker beef roast or steak, two side dishes, a roll, a drink and Jell-O dessert. They also have a "Kids Birthday Club" for ages 9 and under.

This is one of the vegetarian Slow Cooker recipes that blend the richness of tomato, sweet potato, red kidney beans, garlic, curry spice, and coconut milk to create a fabulous stew dish for supper.

For roasts and stews, pour liquid over meat. Use no more liquid than specified in the recipe. More juices in meats and vegetables are retained in Slow Cooking than in conventional cooking.

Season your smoker. It's really a simple process, just like seasoning a cast iron skillet only on a larger scale. First, coat the inside of your smoking chamber with cooking oil. Any type will do, so don't use anything expensive. Next, build a fire in the firebox and add wood chips for smoke. Maintain the temperature at 250 slow roast beef 275 degrees F and let it go for two or three hours adding chips for smoke when needed. It's that simple. The oil and smoke will create a barrier on the inside of you smoker and protect it from rust. This is also an important step for the simple fact that it gives you a dry run on your new smoker.

There are two ways to cook in a solar oven. If you refocus the oven to follow the sun every 25 to 30 minutes, cooking times and methods will be very similar to cooking with a conventional stove or oven. Or it can be used for slow cooking, much like a crock-pot. You can prepare your dinner, put it in the solar oven, point the oven where the sun will be approximately halfway through the time you will be gone. Leave the oven, and come home to a tasty, slow-cooked dinner. If you run late, there is no need to worry; the solar oven will keep your food warm, moist, and fresh for hours.
